English
The survey of 400 UK developers, 200 using Open Source and 200 that use alternatives, offers insight into product choice, leading vendors and thoughts on the future of Open Source.
Results indicate that most non-Open Source respondents would prefer to use Open Source for work, but agree that existing licences and client requirement hamper migration.
“This research confirms that there is increasing interest in Open Source technologies in the UK developer community,” said Claire Roy, Head of Research at Kingpin Intelligence. “The cost and flexibility benefits of using Open Source technologies are appealing for developers and organisations in the current financial climate.”
