April 2010

Kingpin Intelligence has been awarded the Market Research award at the Marketing Week Engage Awards 2010 for its technical audience segmentation campaign for Microsoft UK.

The technical audience segmentation was based on the Kingpin Intelligence Biometric Research Model which combines the traditional methodologies of qualitative and quantitative surveys, with observational research and psychometric testing. The unique model allows for greater insight into both demographics and audience needs/challenges, but also behaviours and communication preferences.

The in-depth segmentation was commissioned by Microsoft UK in order to enhance their understanding of the landscape and make-up of the UK technology audience. By employing the unique Biometric Research Model, Kingpin Intelligence was able to produce a comprehensive overview of the audience based on personas who registered specific characteristics.

“So clever we wish we’d thought of it” The panel of judges lauded the innovative research approach and commended the project for allowing the client to develop much more effective marketing for a tough audience.

Kingpin Intelligence are ecstatic that the research has been recognised by the industry’s leading publication.
